šŖ£š¦ Help! My 18L Drink-O-Matic Bucket Drinker Isnāt Working!
Every chicken keeper knows the joy of a fresh, clean waterer⦠until one day you wander out to the coop and find Niagara Falls pouring out of your 18L Drink-O-Matic bucket drinker. Or worse ā nothing is coming out at all! š±
Donāt panic. These clever drinkers are designed to make life easier, but sometimes they need a little TLC. If yours is overflowing, leaking, or refusing to let water through, here are a couple of quick checks to get things back on track:
-
ā Check the Float (Part #2): āSometimes the float inside your drinker can sneakily fill up with water over time. When that happens, the drinker wonāt work properly. The fix is simple: open up the drinker, remove the float, pop it open, and tip out the water. Once itās empty and dry, youāre back in business!ā
-
ā Take a peek at the float valve (part #5):- is it inserted the right way, and is it even there? If the float valve isnāt sitting correctly, your drinker will keep overflowing. And if itās missing altogether⦠yep, overflow city! Make sure itās placed inside the bucket exactly as shown in the picture below.
-
ā Make sure you haven't lost the dirt protector (part #4) :If itās missing, your water will happily keep overflowing because the water level isnāt being held in check. Make sure itās in place so your drinker behaves ā see the photo below for reference.
- ā Make sure itās level: A tilted base can cause uneven pressure, leading to mystery leaks or no flow.
With a little maintenance, your 18L Drink-O-Matic will be back to keeping your flock happy and hydrated ā no more puddles, no more droughts, just fresh water on tap. šš§
